Hekurudha Shqiptare (“Albanian Railways”, “HSH” or the “Client”), intends using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and grants from the European Union (EU) through the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) for the rehabilitation of the existing railway line between Tirana and Durres with approximate length of 34.17 km and construction of a new rail link approximately 5 km in length to connect with Tirana International Airport “Mother Theresa” and its interchange with the existing line (the “Project”). The Project has a total estimated cost of EUR 90.3 million and will require the procurement of the following goods, works and services:
Tendering for the construction works a is expected to begin in the 4th quarter of 2017. Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the EBRD will be subject to the EBRD´s Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the EBRD´s loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, of for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser´s country. |
